Cessare |
Cessare is a PC-based software program for physicians to assist with smoking cessation counselling:

No special prior training is required to use Cessare;
- Cessare
provides easily accessible guidelines for providing personalised
information and advice to patients;
- Cessare
can be used both in primary care practices and hospitals;
- A counselling session with a patient is estimated at 3-5 minutes.
Cessare provides patients with printouts containing specific information and personalised advice. The program may be used in combination with other activities and resources such as health information campaigns, remote smoking cessation support via telephone, CO-detectors etc.

Cessare makes follow-up counselling sessions easy by recording all previous advice and information provided to as well as collected from the patient such as past quit attempts and relapse patterns.
The development of Cessare has been supported by the Norwegian Medical Association and the Norwegian National Council on Tobacco and Health.
For each stand alone PC one license is required. For PC-networks the number of licences must correspond to the number of PC's on which Cessare is used. Cessare may be used as a stand-alone program or it may also be integrated with patient journal systems. System requirements: Windows 95/98/NT/2000.
